Mt. Kailash (6714m) is the top sacred mountain in Asia which is located at the western part of Tibet. It is believed to be the physical embodiment of the mythical Mt Meru, said to be the center of the universe or ‘navel of the world’. Mt. Meru is depicted as a mandala, and its image occurs throughout both Buddhist and Hindu parts of Asia. Mt Kailas is holy to followers of four religions. To Hindus, Kailash is the abode of Shiva and nearby Mansarovar Lake is the means or soul of Brahma. Tibetans call Kailas Kang Rimpoche. Jains worship it as Mt Ashtapada, the peak from which the religion’s founder, Rishabanatha, achieved spiritual liberation. Followers of Bon-Po, the ancient pre- Buddhist shamanistic religion of Tibet, revere Kailash as the Heart of Tibet.

Important Information about Kailash Manasarovar Yatra

Risk and Liabilities:

We will do the best to make your journey smooth and as pleasant as possible. However, the entire program in Tibet is conducted strictly under the rules and regulations of China and Tibet Tourism Bureau. Therefore, Satellit Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd .& it will not be responsible for any changes in the itineraries due to unavoidable circumstances such as Government restrictions, landslides, road blockages, flood, snow, and any unforeseen types of obstructions, cancellation/delay of flight, delay due to late permit and Visa, illness or accidents. The pilgrims shall have to bear all extra costs incurred, if any, above mentioned obstacles, arise during the Yatra by themselves.

Document:

Passports with a minimum of 6 months validity and two copies of passport size photographs.

Fitness:

This is not a trek or expedition, but a tour; therefore no specific level of fitness is required. Anybody can join this Yatra if they think they are able and have strong willpower. People suffering from cardiac or respiratory problems should consult their doctor prior to embarking on this trip. Morning and evening walk, jogging, stretching, meditation, and regular exercise make the journey comfortable for all.

Food and Beverage:

We will serve you the purely vegetarian delicious continental & Indian meals; Breakfast and Dinner in hotels, served by trained Nepalese staffs. Packed lunch will be provided at the time of Kailash Parikrama.

Clothing and Necessities:

As the temperature greatly varies between day and night (from max. 16 degrees Celsius to min. –10 degrees Celsius) one should be prepared accordingly.

Bring the following items with you:

Woollen gloves, Monkey cap, Sun hat, Thermal wear, Water bottle, Woolen socks, Towel, Light Jacket, Sunglasses, Sun cream, Torch with extra batteries/bulbs, Muffler, Mask, Raincoat, Sweater, Shirt/T-shirts & Trekking shoes etc.

Insurance:

Comprehensive Travel Insurance coverage for Emergency Medical Evacuation if in case of emergency, loss of belongings, and trip cancellation are strongly recommended.

In case of cancellation, you must send formal written notice to our office. Verbal notice will not be entertained.
20 days before trip departure 15% of total trip cost.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu

Pickup from Kathmandu International Airport and transfer to Hotel. A short briefing about Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Overnight stay at Star Hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing &Tour Preparation

Half day sightseeing of Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath Stupa. In the afternoon free for packing and preparation for the trip. Overnight stay at Hotel

Day 3: Kathmandu to Lhasa Flight

Take Morning flight to Lhasa at Gongger airport. Transfer to hotel and overnight stay. Overnight stay at 4-star Hotel

Day 4: Lhasa Sightseeing

Full day sightseeing around Lhasa historical place. Overnight stay at Hotel. Overnight stay at 4 star Hotel

Day 5: Lhasa- Ali Flight

Transfer to Airport to fly out to Ali Airport (4,500 m) and transfer to hotel. Overnight spent at the hotel.

Day 6: Drive from Ali to Darchen (4620 m

Drive 330 km from (Ali) 330 km to Mansarovar lake 4560m after crossing beautiful places stay at the shore of Mansarovar Lake. This lake is the most naturally beautiful with pure water. Free for pooja and Hawan, drive to Darchen (35 km) Stay at Hotel

Day 7: After breakfast move for Dirapuk Trek

After a short drive, we will reach Tarboche and visit Yamdwar. This is the starting point for Kora. We will trek to Dirapuk (4860 m) which is 12 Kilometers trek (3-4 hrs). O/N at Derapuk Lodge. The total 52km trek around Mt.Kailash. Yatris who do not want to trek around Kailash can go back to Darchen. Stay at Guest House /Lodge.

Day 8: Trek from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass to Zuthulpuk (4760 m)

Trek from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass to Zuthulpuk (4760 m) 22 km trek (7-8 hours trek). This is the most difficult journey throughout the yatra since you have to trek up to the 18,600 ft. From descending to Gauri Kund and further trek along with the river to Zuthulpuk. Overnight stay at guest house.

Day 9: Drive to Ali via Darchen

Drive to Ali via Darchen and overnight stay at Hotel

Day 10: Flight From Ali to Lhasa

Transfer to Airport and fly to Lhasa. Overnight stay at 4-star Hotel

Day 11: Take a flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu

Transfer to airport to fly back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at Kathmandu. Overnight stay at Hotel

Day 12: Final Departure

This day, you will be free till your flight time. We will drop you at Airport 1-2 hour before flight time (30 mins drive).
